According to PittsburghHHR's information , there are going to be six available exterior colors for the upcoming HHR SS. IF you were to get an HHR SS, which exterior color would you choose?

My answer....NONE....I would keep my beloved HHR 1LT, If I gave him up so I could get a better HHR, that would be betrayal on my part, and I am too attached to my HHR now, I would not change him..He is family =)

Until I see the Blue Flash Metallic, I gotta go with Imperial Blue.

I'm torn between Red and SOM. Someone convince me one way or the other. I didn't vote yet. If the Blue Flash Metallic is the same color as Corvette Electron Blue I might be all over that.

I loved the SOM when it first came out but now I see them everywhere including the ads. Guess great minds think alike!

Isn't Chevy making a mistake in not offering it in yellow? Last I checked more than 2 ppl to 1 either liked it or loved it. Nine ppl hated it but hell you could find nine ppl who hate free money. :cussing:

Either Black or Victory Red.

I think Black, although it`s a mother to keep clean, I like it, and it wouldn`t be so obvious to my acquaintances that I`d changed rides.
But I do like the Red.

I think any color but sandstone would look great. no offense to sandstone owners, but that color just doesn't say SS to me. Black, Blue Flash or Victory red would be my first choice, followed by SOM and Imperial Blue.

Not going to buy one.

Black would be sweet too. But I've got a black Z28 and have had it for nine years, I'm ready for a car that doesn't look dirty 5 min after you wash it.

Wow, next to your sig photo, they really look different. But those Daytona Blues can look really dark too in the right light.

But yeah, that new blue is like the world's sexiest pair of jeans!

Is the BFM really that purplish? That looks like a violet almost. Does the scan look like a dead match to the original? A lot of scans throw red into the image and you have to desatch the red out for it to look right.
I know picky picky but we're trying to make a decision here.

Oh yeah I voted for Red but I wouldn't be surprised if I like the BFM once I see it in person on a car.

What shows on my monitor is a bit "brighter" than looking at the brochure. Maybe if I had a flouresent light in the room the brochure would show brighter as well.:confused:

well a monitor image by it's very nature is going to be somewhat brighter than a scan to the naked eye, simply because you're looking at light being transmitted from a screen rather than the reflective light of looking at something on paper.
We appreciate the scan though! We'll just have to wait until, what are they saying in the brochure, "late fall 2007" to know what it looks like in daylight.
*edit* flourescent light is too green to be accurate. To truly get true color you must look at colors under sunlight, or at least use a color-corrected light source such as the lights they use to view paint chips in a lab. I should know I used to share an office with the color director at Ameritone Paint.

well i imagine that if you wanna nice unique ride and you don't want to be seeing an exact duplicate coming up at you every time you turn a corner, an HHR SS in silver would be a good choice. :clappy:

I would prefer Black, but I have to vote for Red because the black is too hard to keep looking good.

I love that dark blue...It would look awesome with chrome door handles, grill, beauty bar, and rims.

I will probably keep my HHR SS for about six years. I'm curious; do you guys think that the sunburst orange metallic is a "six year" color? Is it too trendy and will therefore be a difficult sell in six years?

i thought the same thing. I sure see that color on a lot of vehicles these days. It's a nice color but it may be a bit dated by 2013 or 2104. Geez, that seems WAY off in the future, doesn't it? Red however, does not hold it's value either at resale as red is the color that fades the most in sunlight. If you look at sites like Edmunds for example, red paint always takes a hit in car values, just like black, which shows up wear and scratches more than any other color.

I know I see vehicles of all makes and models in orange now. Not many are old so there's no telling if the color will hold up. Remember how bad silver used to fade?

I had a dark red car that oxidized really bad but never owned a bright red one. I also never notice that values decreased faster on red cars. Guess I'll have to rethink my choice. I could always buy white then add stripes in any color I like. That would give the true SS look.

Chevy as of this date has not announced a white HHR SS, so if you wanna buy a white one, it will have to be N/A. 'course you knew that! :D

Wow, color is SUCH a personal choice. I LOVE white with deep tinted windows. The options for extreme contrast with white is high- black rims, black chrome or paint, black grill, etc... but NOT AVAILABLE on the SS! ouch :eek: Red is always sweet on a fast car- unless it's a corvette. That screams "mid life crisis!" :roll: sorry y'all that are rockin red on a sports car! Just IMHO. A lot of my friends hate orange but, as a Chevy guy, I've always loved it. The blues are great- in the right shade- but don't stand out enough for me- unless you two-tone it with another color. And I've seen more than one car here that shows what silver can do. But for me- in spite of the tremendous cleaning issues- BLACK is the bomb. :breakdanc So much potential for contrast and it can easily be two-toned or monochromatic. Subtle or screaming. Looks amazing at night cuz lights don't alter the color.

Yep, to both. I had narrowed down my choice to Black, Red, and Blue Flash. Black is nice, and so because I have been agonizing (Virgos are anal) over my SS color choice (There should be only one special color for the SS IMO) I went back and looked at the black SS pictures from the unveiling and saw something that I didn’t observe before. While they where not high resolution pictures, it was noticeable that as the intercooler grille and the main grille are black and on a black car it was a lot of black and some of the detail gets lost.

So I have made the decision, its Victory Red (with the black grilles.) :smile:

By the way, I don’t think there is going to be Imperial Blue. From the GM media web site; For release: Aug. 16, 2007, 12:01 A.M. High performance cars have been produced in bright and distinct colors for many years. Remember the first Corvettes and T-birds? Chevy should offer the SS in the same colors of their other SS models. That will help distinguish them from other HHRs.

I'm sure that's what they will do after all of the early adopters buy one. You have to have more "tricks in the bag" to keep reinventing the wheel :)

So I need to wait a few years to get YELLOW HHR SS? By then I'll be ready to trade my '06.

ordered my 2nd HHR today ---- SS blue flash met , XM & auto, delete roof rack & sun roof,
wish they,d keep that basket handle in Mexico, no luck. Woulda got LT again, but I wanted SS suspension & brakes . Love the body color door & liftgate handles . anybody need an 06 very nice amethyst LT 2.4 auto?
