This is my 2006 Daytona Blue 2.4 LT Chevy HHR. I chose to go with a Superman theme, because I have always been a huge fan all the way back to the reruns of George Reeves (THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN). In 1978 I was hooked for sure when Christopher Reeve portrayed Superman. Then last summer as you all know they brought back Superman to the big screen in SUPERMAN RETURNS. Another reason is, the daytona blue matches the suit that Superman wears.

Please give me some feedback on what I should add to turn some heads.

Hello - I don't believe I've seen this car on the forum before. Not sure if you are submitting it for HHR of the month? I haven't seen anyone do a poll on a submission before.

Anyway, I just wanted to say it's a very novel approach and you are very right - it is the perfect superman color. I'd love to know more about how you did the emblems - on the hood, on the grill, etc. The headlights - tint or vinyl? And can we can some closeups too - I can't see the headlights very well. Do you use photobucket or some website where we can click on the photos and see them larger?

Oh my GOSH - I just saw the back window - how did you do that?

In Oklahoma, this car must just FLOOR people - what kind of comments do you get?

I wish you had been on the forum as you were creating this vision of yours, so we could have watched this come together piece by piece - it's such fun that way. I hope you stay around and post lots so we can get to know you.

As far as what more should you do, I can't begin to imagine! Custom plates and wheels? I won't interfere; you're having too much fun. :D

What happened was I stopped for a while on the modifications and got away from logging in for so long I forgot my log in info. I recently started up again and had to reregisture so I could show the HHR world what I have done.

The "S" on the grille is for on comming traffic view, because they will see that longer and much better than the "S" on the hood while the sun is reflecting off my hood. The "S" on the hood is for people walking by or at a stand still view. They will most likely notice this much quicker than the "S" on the grille. The "S" on the hood looks almost like its in 3D. That's why I decided to put it on my hood.

Hey, it's cool. If you want to see "overdone" checkout the Red Sox HHR that was on ebay and in our threads about a year ago. That was a labor of misdirected love,
Your's is simply cool.:thumb: We should get together sometime, here's my ride:

BTW, my favorite musician was from Enid Oklahoma, Michael Hedges. He's a local boy who made a huge impression in the guitar world.

Dude, if you are happy with your work why care about the rest, I like it, themed vehicles mean a lot to the owners and isn't that why you did it??? I appreciate picking a direction and sticking with it. I built the Minister of Sinister very subtly, like a velvet sledge hammer, blacked out and to my taste, does that mean others like it or that car show judges respond to it, sometimes yes, sometimes no, but I always respond to it...

Thanks for clearing up my confusion - and for the re-direct to the gallery shots. I like it when people "theme up" their cars - why not play a little in life. And, when that sleek blacked out model drives up, and the bone stock Sandstone sandwiches in the middle, honey, I'm a happy girl.

I think the wood kit on your HHR looks fantastic. Any other color besides the Daytona Blue would look not as good. I also like your sunvisor. Can you tell me where you got it from.

I like the IRONMAN HEAD on the hood of your HHR. Where did you get the head and how did you attach it to the hood? If I saw that I would definitely take a double look at it. Great Job!

the purple logos and the red sill on the rear bumper clash with the outside. on the inside the yellow/red combo clashes with the blue "waterfall". the car just seems very spread out and there is no symetry

Everyone who said YOUR opinion is the only one that counts were right on.

BUT, you did ask.......

First of all, you placed this thread in the wrong section; you "poll" isn't a poll, it two questions, not answers to a question.

I personally, like themes on cars. On yours I think too much of the Superman stuff doesn't match. It's tuff to do. The colors can vary so widely.

No one can say its not your vision and in the end, that's all that's important. welcome back to the forum.

The visor is from http://www.californiacruisers.com/ -- the website's a kick - but you have to click on HHR to get to our stuff. He's an old PT Cruise modder. Thanks for asking.

Explain to me how to much of the superman stuff does'nt match. It's the same style "S" everywhere you see superman. The red painted areas you see are the same red. The three colors you see on my HHR are pretty damn close to what superman has on his suit. So tell me again now that this does'nt match. I DON'T THINK SO! IT MATCHES PERFECTLY!

two different lights and the pics look purple, in fact its probably faded. the first pic of the logo on the hood and the one on the rear windows.

Hold on Superman! You did open this thread with a poll. You have to take the good and the bad, and sometimes the bad out rules the good. Only because it is not to their taste. I like some of it, but not a lot, but that is just my opinion. Not my taste! As far as the colors, sometimes the pics do not bring out the color.
They only thing that matters is YOU LIKE IT!

Hey, you asked for opinions. No need to take offense if someone gives one you don't agree with.

In this pic, I see four different colors of red; hood graphic, grill, bumper, headlights.

I said more than once in my post that your's was the only opinion that counted. That's the thing that gets me about threads like this, people ask for opinions, but when you give your honest opinion they get mad.

that hood graphic above definitly looks purple in that pic and so do the ones on the side rear windows. as far as the interior, yes the colors are correct, but they are so spread out it takes away from the overall theme. it looks like you painted the dash and then much later painted the doors without taking the dash in to consideration.

I'm joining this converstation kind of late but to each his/her own. While I wouldn't do that to my HHR I have my 89 4runner with a few Charger vinyl graphics that I have received from going to the games. If I could financially I would cover my 4runner with NFL & Charger vinyl wrap type graphics. But I use my 4runner primarly for tailgaiting at Charger games at Qualcomm stadium. And like others have already mentioned, you did ask for honest opinions...
