Installing aftermarket amps keeping factory functions

Trying again to post this. Bad time of night apparently. Questions for anyone interested. Description of what I am working with first then what I want to know.

A) I have
Stock XM ready non-amplified stereo
Alpine SPS-6xx series door speakers
Stock Pioneer subwoofer
Polk Audio PA-330 amp
PAC AOEM-GM1416a GM Add An Amplifier Adapter

B) I want to
Add another amp for the door speakers
Wire in the PA amp for the sub
Retain all factory functionality
NOT amplify the chime warning if possible but retain the sound of the chime

I'm thinking I need a different adapter kit than the PAC part I have.. something like the metra SP-2003 in addition to, maybe?

I've been in contact with Metra and the rep I got said this:

"No, there is no interface other then the line level converter you'll need to get RCA level to the amp. You will have you run your own wires to the aftermarket amp from each speaker, BUT you will also have to add a speaker (like our SP-2003) up under the drivers side of the dash and run the drivers side factory speaker wires to that to retain the chimes and onstar if equipped."

Does anyone have any better ideas?
