Smile ABS / TC lites on then off

Ok ,,, This HHR is a tow / via dolly .... all in good working order until one day I had a good mechanic repair the frt.eng seal ( oil leak) and shortly there after -winter time snow / wet - the TC/ ABS lites would appear. First I thought , it was the mechanic----??? but I know him and he is a good guy...... once it got dry lites where gone .... then make a turn cross a bump and on they come, then .... the next start cycle OFF they were ????? and more variations .... finally warm weather to work on it and hope to get to the bottom of this . I am readin as many of your ideas that I can , thank you all .

to the forums!!

From your owners manual

Dolly Towing
Your vehicle cannot be dolly towed, but can be
dinghy towed. See “Dinghy Towing” earlier in this
section.
Notice: Dolly towing your vehicle may cause
damage because of reduced ground
clearance. Always tow your vehicle using the
dinghy towing procedure listed in this
section or put your vehicle on a flatbed truck.

I would be looking at the wheel speed sensors/wiring. There may be a poor connection, chafing, or damage, either from dolly towing or perhaps something was bumped when your front engine seal was being replaced.

It's possible that a CEL code, even a pending code, could illuminate the TC and ABS lights.

It's also possible that the system is functioning correctly. In wet weather or while going over bumps, you may lose traction momentarily.

The mechanic had to unplug the RF Wheel Speed Sensor when he did the engine seal. I susp[ect it did not get reconnected properly, or a hub/bearing is bad.

ABS DRV Side rear wheel sensor

First... thanks to all for the info
finally got the ABS code read and it shows lft rear , so I get out the VOM to measure and needed to remove it to read it ..... 1800 ohms .... could be to high a reading.... I have heard that 600-1600 is more normal ..... SOOOOO I took apart carefully cleaned and put it back in .... passed first go around and the next day failed.... retested and ABS code reader ref'd to lft rear again .... I cannot find the sensor by it self looks like you must buy Axel Assy. to get it ... ...Thanks to all

The wheel speed sensor is integral to the hub/bearing.

Replace them in pairs! The other one will get lonely and act up for attention!

ABS / TC indicators

Hi yall Im back again.... After reading the code at O Reilly's, the guy said Drv. rear showed to be in error.....?? so I ordered one complete assembly on line from CarParts.com ,,,, be aware they sent wrong part (front not rear) then finally came , and replaced it, and I also read the OHM-ic value of the sensor . It read 1775 ohms resistance ,,, brand new out of the box! The old Assy. reads the same value ..... Well Put it back together and now ABS/ TC are still on ... RESET ? similar to check engine resets ???? anyone familiar with having to do with that.?
Thanks to all for your help, and insight.

One complete assembly of what?

Did you check the wires from the WSS to the EBCM?

What error code? Drv.rear means nothing to anyone but the programmer of the reader.

Testing the resistance of a Hall effect circuit does not tell you much.

The output is a voltage when the wheel is spinning.
