Part Numbers for elusive and common parts - Broken into separate posts in this thread
There have been quite a number of posts regarding part numbers for various repairs or enhancements - here's a thread cataloguing some of the parts:
Note: we are going to try and keep this thread short, so once stuff is migrated into the first post, we'll likely delete the info posting.
PLEASE NOTE: To the best of our knowledge the part numbers here were current as of the date they were posted. Be aware that they may have changed or the parts may have been superseded with updated/modified parts that have different part numbers. So always double check with your supplier.
Also - it is quite impractical to list all the part numbers for the various manufacturers, so we will list what we can. Posting a specific manufacturer's part number is not a recommendation on that specific part - other manufacturers parts can likely be substituted to everyones satisfaction. In other words, not including the part numbers from another manufacturer is not a reflection of the quality or suitability of parts they may have available.
Where do you go to find the parts you ask - well of course there is your local Chevy dealer, but you can also try eBay, Amazon.com, and also your local autoparts store, or just do a search of the internet using the part number on Google or your favorite internet search engine. Often a "google search" will also list out some Youtube videos on how to remove and reinstall or fix the part - such as replacing the brakes etc.
It also seems Dorman and Duralast use the same part numbers - but do a double check before assuming so.
