A note to all on this engine, THis engine here is the old engine based on the HHR SS engine.
The Gen II engine that will be more advanced and improved will be seen next year first in the coming ATS Cadillac.
So please do not confuse this engine as the new one. There will be an old 2.0 Turbo and a new 2.0 Turbo along with the new 2.5 NA engine. I think they will be called ECO II.
SO if GM is getting awards for the old engine they should do fine with the new.

Let me try again
I asked whether it was feasible to use a 6-speed manual transmission instead of the 5-speed with the 2.0 engine in an SS. My answer was that the 6-speed automatic would not fit where the 4-speed automatic went.

Very nice find. It's great they are still using the engine, Ecotec's finest. Chevrolet just needed to continue making the HHR SS!!! At least then I would look forward to finding another one; guess I will have to keep Bluezee for a long time. Man, I love the HHR.

So 6 speeds will not replace a 4 auto or 5 speed man.
Few people ever consider going to the 6 speed man. There is less to gain as it is only a little more stronger vs the very weak auto. You just asked a question few ever ask. Sorry.

GM was going to stick in another vehicle but change their mind. They went back and re now doing a vehicle to better replace the HHR. I suspect it will be interesting but it will be different. Retro is so hard to update. The new PT never did as well as the first gen because it really did not change much.
