Gave it a try today!
Drove over 500 miles, almost all hiway.
Averaged 32.5 mpg.
This may not seem high too others, but this is about 5 mpg's more than I'm used to getting on the hiway.
I'm sure a lot of it was just being so aware of how I drove, and staying at, or below, the speed limit.

Does hypermilling mean you actually turn the engine off and coast?? Or do you just stay near the speed limit?
That is what I have been doing and last tank was 35.10
I got 20 different explanations on hypermilling using the Google and none were definitive

Who you callin' gramps, daddy-o... I only drive slow when I'm cruisin' the strip or convoying with a bunch of local HHRs...
Angie drove and kept the cruise-control right at the speed limit (I was going bonkers watching people pass us at 80+ mph). She doesn't like me driving on the highway because I tend to push it past the speed limit on the highway. On the highway, I get chewed out for lead footing it...

see my "I'm impressed" thread in the lounge. I didn't drive hard but I did cruise at 120 km/hr up the 400/69/17 hwys., where I could. Had the air on part way too. Had to slow for accidents/traffic/and a huge thunderstorm that had the whole highway slow to 80 km/hr.
