Would be interesting as another data point... I'm guessing it won't do a whole lot more though. Your 'worm' looks (from the photo) to be in decent shape, but my 'worm' was in bad shape & was definitely restricting airflow to some degree.

Well today I am at 34,395 miles on the odometer with my 2009 2.4L 2LT, from 27,xxx when I bought the HHR in Nov. So that's right at 7,000 mi. over all, city highway, driving like I stole it once in a while (I can assure all, there is no carbon build up) to running to the store 1/4 mile away, you name it, all driving conditions, below 20* when the roads are dry and clear, to 70* some days this spring. no summer over 70* temps driving, which I would expect to be better.
31.3 mpg for those 7000 miles, almost all of it on 87 octain with the 2.4L engine, and that is because, I see absolutely no difference running 92 octain in MPG or performance. And that with the A/C running most of the time with the defrosters on. I checked the DIC for over 1600 miles keeping my own records, and was always within .1 mpg over or under every fill up, so the DIC is accurate, or at least mine is.
That will be changing as I am installing the hitch, and will be pulling one of the 2 boats with it most of the time this summer. One is 15'9" the other 12'11". Both fully rigged for fishing. I will reset the dic and see if I can average 25 mpg. If I can I will be happy, that will be better than the 15.4 I average with the Suburban! We shall see?

Well, when I baby him the mpg's do go up. I can not help it if he likes to GO. Getting up to 30+ MPG must be so... BORING. No offense. I do run 93 so it cost me a tad more money but I SWEAR there is a difference.

I find 99% of my time I'm driving 5 mph over the speed limit,, I outgrew that 1% of my driving where I liked tearing things up and pouring my money out going to the same place. Took me a while but I finally figured out 1 or minutes a trip was not really worth it,,
I also found out how much more I save slowing down than I do taking off. I have learned to let off the gas way before I have to use the brakes, and watch just how far I travel with the DIC showing 99 inst mpg, coming up on turns and stops!
Not to mention how much longer my brakes last when I don't have to use them for them last minuet stops. I kinda do get board though not needing to shop for a vehicle as often as I used to when I had them exciting few second taking off.
All this makes me wonder why I used to have to work on my vehicles more than some others had to. I find driving much more exciting than dumping money on parts fixing it after the money burnt on my exciting 6 second take offs,, but maybe thats because after owning 65 Impala SS, 68 GTO, 69 442, 70 Chevelle SS, 69 Nova SS,,,, I really do understand exciting over boring? Trust me,, those cars were exciting!

Well, let me clarify; Although I drive in a "spirited" manor, I never floor, it, I never take off from a dig aggressively, normally I roll on the throttle when driving, and I usually stay about 5 MPH above the speed limit, so typically I am cruising at 60 most of the time. I do however, enjoy how nicely the car pulls at speed, so I do have a tendency to push the throttle and the car kicks down a gear or so, but never full throttle. I do hit a good amount of stop and go on my way home. The DMV tells me I drive a "Sport Wagon" so I treat Gregg as such, though I am nice about it. I mean, I am getting better mileage than the EPA estimated, but I just dont see how people are getting into the 30's. and RJ, the stripes add AT LEAST 5 HP and 3 LB/FT, as well as streamlining the body so it should help with aerodynamics; thats why I installed the rear SS spoiler; it helps disperse the air just like on the SS's giving better mileage. I need to show people why the hood says POWERED BY ECOTEC, and what "TURBO TECH RACING" is. Also, I dont have Torq Thrust style rims for no reason!(YES I am kidding with all this). I do get a fair amount of thumbs up, and compliments on the color.
