These are basically like a plastic model kit, but different material is used for casting. Uses unique glue and techniques for assembly. Some use current kits for donor parts, some are complete kits...hence the varying prices.

They do take some advanced modeling skills. Some more than others but in any case they are usally more difficult than just a regular box built Revell.
I have done a few resin kits and things I have had to do is modify donor chassies wheelbases. fab up interiors, cut window and wheel openings, fill in holes in the resin and make my own window glass.
All of this is not difficult if you know how to do it and most resin kit have little or few instructions. It is not so much a difficulty factor as it is a not knowing how to do it factor on some of these things.
I do not want to scare anyone away on this but I just want them to understand these are not just a stock built kits. Many here have done more far difficult work on their real HHr.
If you have not ever built a resin kit and want to do one of these I am sure the first who have more advanced skills will more than glad to share what they did to help the others here.

Windows can be made from several things. I even have used he plastic lids form a pie cover from the stores. The HHR glass except for the windshield is mostly flat so it should be easier than most models to make side glass.

It needs to be 1/48 or 1/72 scale (most AC models are this scale), not 1/25.
Almost all model kits include chrome plated plastic parts.

Probably 90% of automotive kits are 1/25 scale. As far as chrome, I would build the master with a separate grille...for ease of adding an SS grille if desired, or the stock chrome. Yes, mass produced styrene(plastic) kits come with chrome parts, probably only 50% of resin kits have chrome included...but resin parts are just as easily plated as styrene.
