I just bought a 2011 hhr with 84,000 miles on it. i drove it 7 days and had to take it back to the dealer after turning in on and the engine light and the esc lights were on and the speedometer was not working and it would not go over 45 mph and started to over heat. boy was i surprised after just 7 days. Well the dealer was nice enough to replace the trans module at there cost. What other issue should i expect. Since all the reviews that i read where positive. I guess those who are having problems with this car did not have much input in cars.com. thanks if you can keep me inform of any other problems i might experience. Tom at XXXXXX@sbcglobal.net

I have not seen a lot of failures of the trans controllers.

It sounds like the trans module shorted out the data bus.

All the controllers talk to each other over the data bus. If one controller locks up the bus then the other controllers know what's going on. That why you seen so many things effected.

Is the trans controller the only thing they replaced?

The symptoms don't sound like a TCM to me. More like VVT valves.
