Oops. I gave you some bad info. You will not have the AP3 code if it's a 5 speed transmission. AP3 is only for the automatic trans. because it includes the remote start feature.
Dang if I remember an RPO code for the 5 speed with remote door lock only fobs.
Don't think there is a seperate code for that. I'll have to do a little looking.

Well, I have all the codes there, so probably not. There are two transmission codes.
Everyone on the build sheet match what's on the sticker in the glove box.

Yeah. I think all will have 2 trans. codes. Mine does.

Not trying to criticize your car, but that's one of the shortest RPO tags I've seen. I realize it's a basic LS, so I guess that's why.
My SS has over 5 lines of listed codes on the tag.

The Owner Manual is pretty clear that if you Lock with the fob or the electronic button then unlock with the key the alarm WILL start. You can lock with the key or the plunger and unlock with the key without setting the alarm.

Starting the engine with a paired key will turn it off.

I don't know what you are reading.

In some other thread in the wayback machine chevymgr stated that since they all have RKE there is no RPO for it. 2 trans codes: trans-diff?

It is supposed to flash for 30 seconds when you unlock the door, AGAIN, NO FOB, just a key.
It did not come with FOBs. It's all good, I will just deal with the oddity of it.

Also, I also found out the difference between the horn chirping when I open the door, to the full on
alarm, which I just found today when I popped the hood while it was chirping the horn; it went to
the full length horn blows....

Anyhow, I will manage, and try to hook up the Viper system so I have FOBs. Just need the two
resisters for the unlock, the kit has a bunch of them.

I have a separate RPO code for the Differential gearing, and two trans codes.
M86 - 5-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION
MM5 - 5-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION /
MERCHANDISED TRANS, MAN 5 SPD PROVISIONS
FR8 - AXLE RATIO 4.17

OK; I guess we are reading different books.

You are typing completely different things than what I posted in post #2.

You know that you can get a fob to lock and unlock the doors with a program module at most AP stores and eBay etc.

Does you Viper have the Security Bypass Module?

The fact that the hood opening does anything makes me think you do have remote start. Since only cars with RS are equipped with the hood ajar switch, as far as I know. Which means your car probably has or had an after market system installed.

Merchandised means that they had a package deal for that particular car.

Can't find anything aftermarket. Maybe I opened the hood at the same time the
time expired for the alarm to go off, who knows.

I do not have a bypass module, but are looking into one, Dball, or Passkey. The
Viper also has remote start. From what I can sell, it's stock, no extras wires
running to any door switches, and I do not see a hood pin switch. Had to be
a coincidence.

I just got the HHR and are just looking into the mechanics, electronics, and physics.

I also see I have two antennas? One up front, and one at the back?

Also, I know the trick for the locking while exiting, but I need to turn off the
auto unlock when I pull the key from the ignition. I think I saw a way to program
that out.

Turns out the rubber boot/grommet for the power steering shaft was out, so yeah,
there actually was a freekin' hole in the firewall. Put it back in today, and WHAT a
huge difference.
