Cobalt SS Lowering rear spring thoughts...

The gm FE3 shocks are gas charged, the FE1 are not. I think the excel-g is gas, so should give performance closer to the FE3.

I'd recommend you work a deal with Oldblue on the Canucks. They give a good stance and ride nice. I waited 3 months this winter for them to run another batch, it was worth the wait. I have rear TC on my other HHR and I prefer the Canucks. Good price too.

HHRLEY,
Thanks for that info...
Your panel sits nice.
Is your other HHR with the TC springs a 1LT or 2LT.
From your photo's it looks like the red panel is a 2LT.
Are the Canuk springs wound differently then stock GM FE-1 and FE-3 springs?
With only 14,000 miles I am primarily going to keep this 1LT stock except for Lowering springs, Possible FE-3 Rear or KYB shocks with a TTR rear sway bar optional if needed and a Trifecta tune later on.
Damn I hate to mess with the 2.4L in this car as I just did the check for mileage and
on a 300 mile hiway trip over 4 passes and air conditioning on half the time, I got 34 mpg with 87 Octane fuel. I kept my speed to about 60 most of the way.
Ride quality and Noise level is of high importance for just a daily driver.
I am also thinking of Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 205/60R/16 tires on my stock 16" 5 spoke steel wheels.
I put the 205/60R/16's ( Not Pirelli's) on my last 2011 2LT and left the stock FE-3 suspension alone.
Ran them @ 31lbs. cold and found a noticeable improvement in ride quality without much difference in handling unless your driving very aggressively. I didn't try increasing the air pressures to see if it made any difference in handling as I was not concerned about that issue.
Tire diameters are close enough to the stock 215/55R/16's so as to not cause any real issues.
Bottom line do you think the Canuck springs ride softer or ??? then the TC springs
assuming both your HHR's are 2LT's.
One other thing I notice on this 2010 over all the other 7 HHR's I have owned is the stance it has from the factory. This one seems to look higher in the rear but the front to rear measurement does not bear that out. 1 3/8" difference is all .. completely stock.
The only thing I can think of is the front is sitting slightly lower then the last HHR's.
I have no way to recheck that as all prior cars have been sold.
Technically the SS/SC spring with the SC bumper still intrigues me as I am after a more comfortable ride when all is said and done.
