tire monitor
Hello, I tried the search and did not find an answer. I have a 2008 LT with 75,00 miles on.and today the message came on low tire pressure. front left was 27 psi, left rear 28 psi, right front 30 and right rear was 29. Put air in all 4 tire to 30psi . Indicator on the dash shows 30 psi on all 4 tires. I disconnected the battery for a minute and hooked it back up but the low pressure indicator is still on. How can i erase the low pressure indicator and take the low pressure tire picture off the insturment cluster. Thanks Lynn

I don't have mine anymore, but I think 30 is too low. I thought it was somewhere between 32 & 35?
Did you drive it after topping them off? I just picked up a nail in one and the triggered my light. Didn't turn off till I had drive for a short distance.

First, are your tire positions correct? They need to be updated every time the wheels are rotated or changed. Instructions are in your Owner Manual.
Second, after you change the pressure it may take a short drive over 25 mph to update the computer.
Third, one or more of the batteries may be dying after 9-10 years. Which is what the "low pressure" warning usually means, if all 4 positions are at the correct pressure. A really expensive OBD2 reader can tell about the TPMS, there are codes associated with it.
On a 2008 I would not recommend leaving the car battery disconnected for more than a few minutes due to a RCDLR programming issue.

Are they still at 30? I have to ask, even though I'm sure you've checked that.
When one of my batteries was going, it would occasionally alert, and show flat lines on the one tire position on the DIC. The other 3 tire positions would still show their correct pressure. So what you're experiencing is strange. Maybe it's trying to signal that some other component in the system has a problem.

I thinks I solved how to turn off the Low pressure alert. I let out air on each tire to 25 psi and then brought them all back up to 31 psi. The message is gone and the yellow tire low pressure symbol is gone also. Hope this helps someone else. Thanks for all your imput Guys. Thanks Lynn

Did you reorient the wheel sensors like instructions in owners manual. They need to be done. Easier with two people. Tough with one foot missing. I had snow tires with out sensors. They would read someone else's Chevy at work if I parked by it.
