The police department in Wichita, Kansas has one too. Did some searching and found a pic of it.

That looks pretty nifty. I bet it's a PR Car for the PD. I don't see that being a feasible car for Police Duties.

Our conjoined sister city of Concord NC, had an HHR as their drug awareness vehicle, they used it for anti-drug presentations at schools and PR duties. But it went away in early 2012.

Yeah, I think it looks pretty nifty too. I'm not sure what they use it for, but like you said I suspect it's for PR related stuff. It would be kinda funny to see someone getting pulled over by it though.

Right after Ford announced the end of the Crown Vic all the cops got excited because "the only" US car that qualified was the New Camaro. One of our local departments even had a vette with lights etc. Turns out that now GM is offering the 2015 Caprice, which is an updated Pontiac G8 but made in the US instead of Australia. Think 4 door Camaro with a 6.0L motor. They do have a 130 MPH governor.

I like this spec.: "The front seats are sculpted to “pocket” the equipment belt, which greatly increases the comfort for a great range of officer sizes."
