Question How hard can we push our trans.?

From everything I read about the Ecotec it seems to be able to handle a decent amount of horsepower on the stock internals as long as you don't push it too hard (too much boost) but how about the transmission? Also, I have never been concended about the power of FWD cars so I dont know if we can we strengthen our transmission or change the gear ratios like on a RWD?

Thats a very good question. Time will tell. I'm sure sometime in 2006 we would know the answers.

I'm sure one of the guys who are into Cavaliers, Sunfires, Cobalts, or Ions could answer the question. I had a Sunfire GT but I didn't realy care that enough about the car to sink money into anything other than the stereo and tint. My biggest performance mod on it was a K&N air filter. For me it was a get me from point a to point b kind of car.

i'm pretty confident we'll have tons of things to add onto our 2.4L's. the scion xC comes with a 2.4L and they've already got cold air intakes and all kinds of stuff for them. so i'm not too worried about our HHR's...especially since winning the award at SEMA...someone knows a lot about the capabilities that we haven't seen yet. :)

Not to be rude but did you look at the threads title. I know there will be plenty of aftermarket parts, that's not the question I posed. The question has nothing to do with bolt ons. I'm wondering about our transmission only. I know someone has something useful to add to this thread. It's not like our transmission or front wheel drive cars are new technology.

Yes! You can push it too hard and strip your gears and so forth . There are lots of bad things that can happen to your transmission from pushing it too hard.
