It's about 800 lbs heavier. Quite a bit bigger inside. Pulls pretty well for a 4 tho'. The mileage is the same or better as long as I don't push it too hard. As the temps are going up here it's getting better too.

Does it run on premium or Regular? Am I right in my understanding that the 2.4 in your Equinox is nearly identical to the 2.4 found in the HHR?

Runs on regular, yes. I can't really see the engine (covered in shrouds) although it's in there somewhere. I'm no mechanic but it is the same EcoTech family but technology marches on so after the block I couldn't say how much is the same. I'm hoping a lot. Are you thinking of making the switch?

Headlights and signal lights should be easier to replace on this one. There's an actual port in the wheel well to access them.

I have considered it because the platform has proven to be very reliable. I plan to run my hhr into the ground as it has high miles as is, is still going strong, and is worth next to nothing LOL. Personally, I do somewhat prefer the look of the GMC Terrain which is essentially the same car as the Equinox, just a boat load more expensive.

I was looking at Terrains as well. My daughter had to have heated seats(not that big a deal for you, I'm guessing). The Terrain has them standard. The Equinox I found had clothe heated seats and was a good deal so I jumped. I got the "scrap price" as trade in value on the HHR. Thing were getting pretty dodgy with the high K's I had put on it. I'm still reaching to the console to put the windows down. ; )

I am sure I will be doing that as well! I don't have any "dodgy"
issues right now but last time I looked at another car I was offered the scrap price as well. I do have heated seats right now and am sure I could live without them... maybe not.... :P
