"New" 2007 HHR LT2... new problems.
The wife and i were out and about today running errands and all of a sudden I get the ABS light and No Traction Control light with the Service Traction message. Just peachy. I love the car. I love the ride, the comfort, the color, everything. It has just a smidgin over 75,000 miles on the clock to boot. We test drove the heck out of it, checked the whole thing over top to bottom before the purchase and it was all good.
Now I have to head to a dealer. I'm am not a happy camper about it either.

Just let it be for a while. There are a lot of intermittents in these vehicles.
Perhaps an unrelated code will appear you can read or have read. I say unrelated because the ABS system is not readable by a lowly code reader.

A 7-8 year old car with 75k miles. Yep, things can and do go wrong with something that old.
And why would you think you have to "head to a dealer" ? There are many other non dealer shops that can diagnose and fix HHR's.
Since this is under the General HHR forum, I assume you were just venting and not looking for any help with this issue.

We have a call into the dealership we bought it from. They are supposed to get back with us in the morning. The paperwork says we have a limited powertrain and such warranty for 30 day with the dealer covering 100% of the parts and labor. When we called in though she seemed to think otherwise. That's the reason we need to head back and hope for the best. It's an hour and a half hop up there from where we are located.
I understand a vehicle of this age and mileage can have some issues but with less than 100 miles under our feet on it I would think they would have caught this one. I almost think the codes were cleared and fingers were crossed on the techs part. I do hope that wasn't the case. We typically go to the local dealership for mechanical issues because, again our location, doesn't exactly have the best mechanics around. You give them a tractor or farm equipment they can get you square. Vehicles with modern tech, not so much.
It's more of a frustration thing for me right now. We got this car as a second since my wife's Pontiac has over 204,000 on it and she drives a distance for her job. That one was flawless until it hit 120,000 after we picked it up at 70,000 miles. After that it had various low end maintenance issues until the engine went at 145,000.

If it is one of the hubs, they are an easy replacement, and the part is not that pricey. If it turns out it's not covered with your 30 day warranty, ask if they will do the parts at cost and split the labour - they may try and make you happy being a long time Customer. It never hurts to ask. :)

Woot!!! It was the rear right hub that they said shorted out. They replaced it straight away, gave the car a fresh wash and sent me on my way no money out of pocket. Great experience from the time I walked in the door and out. I hope there are not any more issues but if they have to happen during the 30/1000 is the time they should happen. If not I'll have to get good at working on this car instead of Mustangs.
