NW7 option...
Looking at my build sheet, noticed only 300 out of 3044 built with this option for 2008. Is this different than another type of Trac control without this type. If so, how so?

I'm guessing posi-traction, or whatever GM was calling it that year. Or, LSD.
In a little bit of looking; it seems to be ABS and Electronic traction control for Sierra, Tahoe, Suburban etc.

So is LSD different or better than the standard electronic traction control in most other HHR models. Sounds like one is electronically engaged, while NW7 is actually a physical differential unit.

I don't know. I just GoOgled "rpo nw7" and read a couple of articles.
LSD means Limited Slip Differential. I am only guessing from the low number of units. LSD was only on some SS manual trans, which narrows the numbers down.

I just found its
RPO NW7 traction control assist OST electronic
Not much description, but I believe more to do with the ABS system and TCS
I couldn't confirm if GM had an electronic locking differential in 2008 or not
