Parking Sensors

Hey fellas, let's see if you can help me with this one, its a bit tricky.

I live in an apartment and my parking spot is 3 ramps down from the street level. I had never had issue parking the bike, but now with the car I am afraid it's gonna cost me dearly one day.

A lot of cars in the building are already scratched from one or both sides! so you can imagine how tight it is.

Lucky for me, the HHR is slim fit for it, but even then I have found myself struggling to align the car with the ramp.

So I need a parking sensor, or more specifically a proximity sensor that can help me detect if I am getting to close to the wall.

I was looking at amazon, and most of the one in store requires one to install a bar in the parking spot, but since I get to roll the car 3 ramps down & up, it wouldn't work much for me.

Thanks in advance for your replies!

Best regards,

-Dan

Ramps ? Not really sure exactly what you mean. Maybe a picture or two would help clarify what you are referring to.

Mult-level parking garage with 8 foot wide ramps and 8 inch curbs? That's my guess.

I read it as the ramps driven on to get from floor to floor in the parking garage.
Nope never seen anything to address that, I've always depended on my depth perception.
My first wife depended on the full contact method with our 1976 Buick Regal!
And she wondered why she couldn't drive my 1970 1/2 Pontiac T/A

If you are speaking of a front bumper sensor for when you pull up to a wall, I used Curb Alert on my Vette's. Great product and the sensitivity is adjustable. You may be on your own in wiring it because the kit comes complete with install instructions for the Corvette. On second thought. I think they make them for several different vehicles. I'm actually considering one for my Colorado because of the "disappearing" hood.

The net, Amazon and a number of aftermarket parts houses also carry various kinds.

Thanks this is what I meant. Is a concrete down slope curb surrounded by walls with enough space for at least 1 car. the total width is 8 foot more or less.
I drove my boss's audi Q7 and it had an audio signal if something gets too close to any bumper, I thought there could be an aftermarket gadget that does the same.

As Snoopy said above, it sounds like you need a Curb Alert gadget, here's a link for you.....

Curb Alert

The black plastic "Splitter" under the nose of an HHR is designed to be sacrificial, but breaking it off is kind of a pain in the butt.

It'll also keep you from damaging the front fascia.

These are made for some specific cars, like Corvette, BMW, Mini, Prius?
We get the universal kit! But hey, free shipping, 18 month warranty, and less then an hour to install!

We get the "Universal Kit" because HHR's are universally cool!
