Question Rear Bumper Cover Replacement Price

My 2011 HHR has some damage to the rear bumper cover and it needs to be replaced. Has anyone else had the rear bumper cover replaced? If so how much were you charged? The quote I got from the body shop is $673 to have a reconditioned cover put on and painted. Is this a normal price?
Thanks,
Aaron

you have an LS/LT rear bumper...on rockauto.com website you can get a new rear bumper for $45 + shipping! then take it to a shop to paint ~$200 and install yourself. It will take like 15 mins to put it on

I believe the RockAuto piece is what they call a "Pattern Part" made from molds pulled off of a genuine GM bumper.

Some members here have had good experiences with Pattern Parts, and others have had to fiddle and futz with them to achieve a proper fit. Think gnashing of teeth, pulling hair, and throwing tools.

FYI the part number for an OEM piece from GM is 15276663 with a dealer list price of $355.27, but a quick Google search turned them up for $220-$250.

Of course, no matter which route you take, prep and painting need to be factored in.

Just went through this myself. Got rear ended a week ago. Got quoted 1,143 to fix. However I did have crush panel damage also.
