Slight exhaust smell in the cabin

Slight exhaust smell in the cabin
I have a 2006 HHR LT/2LT, 60K miles, and today I noticed a slight exhaust smell in the cabin. There are no audible exhaust leak sounds, and no smoke at the exhaust. If anyone has any suggestions as to what this might be, or has experienced the same thing, please let me know. I plan to take it to my mechanic and put it on a lift on Monday to see if we can find a leak.

It's a common failure point on HHR's and their fellow GM/Saab Delta-Platform cousins, easily fixed with an aftermarket piece at a good exhaust repair shop. Do Not go to a dealer, they'll want to replace the entire Downpipe which costs an arm, both legs, a kidney, and an ear.*
*Darn inflation, they only used to cost an arm and a leg.
