That's a nice piece reminds me of a XKE Jag rear. I would like to think an IRS could be used from another manufacturer that use's front wheel drive.

Maybe GM IRS parts such as Solstice/Sky (probably wouldn't need much modification) or Caddy CTS???

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this project is a RWD conversion.

Yes other manufacturer that uses a front wheel drive platform with an independent rear suspension , IRS. To make it a 4X4 like the Honda mentioned or Toyota Rav 4

What about an ATS Caddy, heck you could probably use the whole drivetrain. There are very few rear wheel drive vehicles under 60" for track width, even the Vue is 61".

Rwd

The rear end I'm putting under my street rod is a Ford Explorer 8.8. 59.5 inches wide, comes with disc brakes, 3.73 gears and Trac Loc. Got to ask: do you have the tools, space, money and talent to do a swap or is this a pipe dream. really?
