syphoning gas from tank
Has anyone removed the anti syphoning screen from the gas filler tube, or found a way to syphon gas from their tank? (spending 5 months boon docking in the desert with a small gas generator to supplement the the 7.5K diesel generator)

Too much trouble to siphon.
Maybe take the fuel line under the hood loose, insert a long hose, turn on the ignition key and let the electric fuel pump fill up your container.
Or have a selectable t-valve installed in the fuel line and do the same method.
For safety reasons, I don't really recommend this, but since you asked....................................

Removing the "anti siphon valve" is not a good idea.
The ball that's in the filler tube is not there to make it difficult to siphon fuel it's there to close off the filler tube in the event of a roll over.
As mentioned above pulling fuel from the engine compartment is not recommended.
I have taken samples of fuel from the fuel rail at the fuel pressure test port using the hose from a fuel psi tester.
I think you would be better off talking a fuel can with you.

And since you're going into the desert, why not go for Jerry Cans and they you can give it the look of a WWII British Army "LRDG" Rat Patrol Chevy WD-30 Truck?
These "Long Range Desert Group" Chevies not only look cool, but their ability to haul tail across desert terrain and harass advance elements of the German Army, kept Rommel from winning the North African Campaign.
