New View You Haven't Seen
I had the car on a roller bed today and I took this shot showing the rear undercarriage. If you expand the photo you can make out the cut outs and pretty much the entire drive train.

New 9" Rear End
It's a long story, but I'm replacing the rear axle assembly on the V8 Panel. The Camaro axle is the Achilles Heel of the drive train. F body Camaros are notorious for differential failures, especially with over 500 hp. driving it. I also currently have 3.08 gears which are slightly tall for my needs. Since Currie Enterprises is just 8 miles from my work I've spent a bunch of time with them designing a new system.
I'm going with a custom width housing and custom 31spline axles of course drilled to 5x110 mm. The ford style 9" 3rd member will have 3.50 gears which will put me at 2100 rpm @ 65mph. Posi-traction and Wilwood calipers with drilled and slotted rotors finish it off.
With the line lock for massive burn outs, I kept having a reoccurring nightmare of having a catastrophic failure in the middle of frying the tires, thus the 9".

The 3.08 was what the axle came with so it wasn't worth the money to change it. Since I can pick any ratio I want with the new rear end I'm gonna get what I want.

9" rear end
Included in replacing the rear axle on the V8 Panel I must build all new brackets. Here are the cut pieces of the shock mounts and panhard bar mount It will take 6-8 more hours to complete them ready for welding onto the 3" axle tubes.
