Great, thank you. You guys are the best! I'm glad I asked, I'll need to keep that.

Let me correct myself. The letters under that cover are E-P-C. It does look like a brand name script.

Yes, my windowed SS does have that relay in that same spot.
Maybe my car desired to be a panel when it was being assembled.

I think that is a typo stating it's for the panel only. There is no difference in the rear lift gate on any HHR. The picture I posted was from a windowed HHR. It seems all of them have it. But in any case, I'm glad I asked because I'm ripping out wires like a mad man and I think that I would have really screwed up removing that one.

Thanks for all the replies.

That's odd my 2008 LT and 2011 LT did not have it, that I remember anyway.

I thought Panels had a popper on the liftgate?

Looking further, I see that the 2009-2011 has the relay at position 18 in the fuse box. In the previous years they don't even list the relay except in that underhood diagram. The image AllData has of the fuse box says the 2007 has a relay at position 18.

I think AllData is trying to confuse me. Evidently some have the relay in the box and some have it on the fender.
