Exclamation New To Me 2008 HHR SS

good evening all, long time lurker first time poster. i just picked up a 2008 HHR SS Auto. 2.0 turbo and have a question. The black ring on the negative terminal is not connected to anything nor does it have the plug for it anywhere. before i go chasing a problem that may not be there, can anyone with an 08 ss tell me if they have the plug?
my other 2010 LT hhr has one connected and my old 09 LS hhr had one too. i kindly thank you for your time to read this.

If you mean this piece it is the current sensor that tells the alternator what to do. If it is not connected the alternator is not charging. The harness for it is probably hiding somewhere.

???
Didn’t Donbrew answer your question ? I didn’t bother to post up because I didn’t want to repeat what he said.
So, what exactly are you looking for ? A different answer ?
If you would have posted a picture in your OP it would have helped.

You can just see that sensor on the negative cable by the red piece above the negative terminal.

if you can’t find the harnes, how can you just wire in the three wires? There has to be cut cables somewhere

I mean you weren’t really any help. You pretty much told me what the current sensor was. Which I stated in my top post that I have 3 hhrs and this one does not have the plug or wires. And I pulled the rear panels apart, guess what no plug or cut wires.

If you have 3 HHR ‘s why not just look at the others and see where the harness is supposed to be.

FYI. I reread Don’s post again. Yep. Told you what it was and what you should do. We can’t read your mind in the 1st post. You were basically asking what that thing was and what to do about it. Donbrew answered you.
