to the forum!

Since the revised parts are not available yet, are you saying your dealer will have you in a loaner for 3-4 weeks at least?

Yes, when I got the loaner today the service writer said , you know we do not have the parts yet right, and my reply was yes I know, I will have the loaner until you have the recall done on my car, he said no problem, and I pulled away with a 2014 Chevy Cruze with 2,900 miles on it !!!

Also received my GM generic letter for the ignition recall. Funny though, I had my ignition replaced under warranty many years ago. The stuck in ignition, won't turn off thing. LUCKY, I was 2 blocks from my dealer. Drove in, illustrated the problem, sat in the waiting area for about an hour, and was on my way.

Additionally, to my knowledge NOBODY on this forum had complained about the ignition turning off while moving.....precisely what the recall is about. Anybody remember????

great now the wife is terrified to take the HHR on our vacation trip in late April, my deal stated he will not do anything without the letter and the parts in hand to process the recall. Well it is a 2007, has 155,000 miles and no issues yet. So hurry up and wait.

Pass this along to your wife, I have no fears or concerns about my wife and 17 month old son being in any of our three running HHR's. #4 has been taken apart for a ground up refit and customization.

I have no problems with Michelle driving any of them at any time, either with or without our son accompanying her.

In 2011 I survived being hit by a drunk driver in our first HHR, and after its repairs which included 33 days in the body shop, I still drive it proudly today without fear.

I believe that these are safe vehicles, and I refuse to be rattled by sensationalist stories in the media.

Did you see the stop-gap fix? They just turned the oblong ring hole into a small ring hole to change the pull vector. IF you don't normally carry 27 keys + a plush bunny on your keyring you probably will live another 8 years.

Somebody was worrying about "why didn't they give the inserts out earlier", jeez just carry 5 keys. I have always wondered why some car keys have the small hole and some have the oblong hole.

Since the new part is redesigned, you may find yourself on the end of a recall letter and another ignition lock/cylinder assembly. So definitely take your paperwork from last year along when you see your dealer, your vehicle might not need the recall campaign work done to it.

Yes. When you get our paper it will tell you how to get your reimbursement for previous work done.
