Add LSD to hhr ss that did not have
Just wondering if there was a way to install an LSD into an HHR SS that did not come equipped with one from the factory? Haven't seen any HHR SS in my area that have the LSD... brembo's I can purchase from the auto parts store... Looking to purchase an hhr ss around april.
Any comments would be appreciated.

You saw this one? Much easier to buy one with it.

I had seen that one come up for sale, it is in NC tho, and I need to sell the cobalt first :/ I would have to line up financing and a way to get it from NC to cali, and it has to be rated for california emission standards otherwise it will cause trouble trying to smog it :/

I've added a Quaife LSD to the f40 but f35 is a MUCH more complicated transmission. I've looked into the f35 rebuild process...let's just say, there is a reason GM would never do warranty rebuilds, only replace. I would just try to souce a low mileage used LSD trans from salvage.

Purely mechanical. It's a direct swap for the SS.
Not sure about the f23 though, the shifter cable connection and trans mount may be different on non-SS models. I know for a fact that the upper trans mount(underneath the fuse box) is different.

Also, the '08-'10 cobalt ss/tc LSD trans will also be a direct swap(non-LSD also). Theoretically, the cobalt SS/tc trans will actually make the HHR ss faster!! This is because the cobalt ss/tc trans has a final drive ratio is like 3.92 vs 4.05 for the HHR ss. The downside for the cobalt trans is the 3.92 gearing puts more stress on all the gears. So, this means that the HHR ss trans is actually stronger because it can handle more stress.
BUT, the cobalt ss/tc trans will handle a good amount of torque if you don't spike the boost so quickly at low rpm.
That being said, the cobalt ss/tc trans would actually be a great upgrade for those with less aggressive tunes like the GMTU.
