Long time no post, but I still check in here, especially to check on the V8 build thread. But anyway...a few weeks ago I was sitting on my couch and saw a familiar looking HHR drive by. Only caught a glimpse, but I thought it was mine. I wrote it off as imagination, but then a couple days ago I saw the same HHR driving by me in traffic going the same way. Turns out that the person that bought my HHR lives literally a block away from me. Talk about a small world...I left a note on the windshield so I could give them my Colgan bra that I had no further use for.
I had to take one creeper photo...
And to keep with the topic of the thread, here's a couple pictures (click for bigger) of my Genesis on Part Shop Max coilovers...

Patrick, really like that Genesis Coupe. Sexy car, and sexy color.
While my Grandfather Retired from GM, I am not limited to just looking at GM cars.. When I see a fine piece of Machine, I can appreciate it.
When I first saw the Genesis on Burn Notice on USA, I loved it.
I have to say, while this car is extremely outside my price range, I still love the look of it. The McClaren P1
I also love the look of this Sedan. Charger Hellcat.

Nice ride.
I looked at the 2.0T gen coupes. Not enough room for me, and the turbo took forever to spool up. The 3.8 was outside my price range.
Hyundai is turning out some nice cars, and the warranty is awesome. I would like to see the 3.8 in RWD configuration in the veloster. Then we're talking.

The Hellcat is ~$60,000 as prices haven't been released as of yet, but that's the rumor. I suspect another $10,000 higher to $70,000 for the Hellcats.
No need for them on the street, except to tear **** up.

After I signed the papers on the Genesis (having never mentioned that car before since it wasn't on my radar), I asked the salesman what he thought of the Veloster turbo. He laughed and called it a kitted-up Accent that handles just like a kitted-up Accent. If they could shove a RWD 3.8 platform in there though, the weight difference would make for a sweet little pocket rocket.
Allegedly Hyundai is doing away with the 2.0T in the next-gen Genesis. Lots of rumors of the sedan's 5.0 making an appearance in the Coupe in 2016. We shall see...

I think I saw an estimate of $70k somewhere. Sounds about right. If I ever see one on the road, I'll need a neck brace.

I never drove the 2.0T because a bunch of the options I wanted were only available on the 3.8 Track in the 2013 MY. They changed that with the '14, so if I had the decision to make again today, I'd probably go 2.0T. Basic bolt-ons and tune will get you past what you can get with a 3.8 short of going FI. There's a guy nearby in Killeen that has a 500+ rwhp turbo'd 3.8, but that's a bank account ruiner haha. There's another guy in Alabama that did a Camaro V8 swap into his, that thing sounds like it wants to eat souls.

And the veloster, and turbo veloster, both suck. Slower than a snail, turbo or not.
Just imagine though, if they release the 5.0 gen coupe you know somebody is going to put a turbo on one... That'll be a monster. Guys getting 500 rwhp from a 3.8, and I can certainly believe that, the 5.0 with a turbo should be able to see 600-750 with a turbo and some work.

McLaren P1 can do it in 9.9
The Ferrari LaFerrari can do it in 9.8
I would love to see a drag between the latter 2. That'd be pretty sweet! I would think it would come down to the driver, really..
