It runs much better than stock, I do get 24 PSI of boost. I have yet to core the second cat, but do have the TTR upper mount and the K&N intake pipe only. I'm using my stock OEM AC/Delco air filter.
As to the filter, I've read some articles that say the stock element is just as good as using the K&N.
Why I say to use the HP tune is, you yourself can change parameters vs Trifecta where you have to rely on a download and give it back to Trifecta to modify.
As far as coring the cat, it's recommended to go 2 3/4". I only have the option at my shop to use 2 1/2" or 3" pipe. Have not taken the exhaust apart to see if a 3" pipe will work but the system is 2 1/2" and see no problem with coring it 2 1/2".
Correct me if I'm wrong on this.

2.75' tubing is needed to core the cat, only use 2.75".... the exhaust system is 2.5', but the DP is 3"
no retuning needed when after coring cat.
no need to have your tune retuned, unless you add something wild like cams.
Vince at Trifecta has his own way of tuning, & runs his tunes on the rich side, so yes HPTuner is best, if you know what you are doing, or have a tuner that you know, that tunes LNFs....
If you find a tuner that has never tuned LNFs, don't let him touch your buggy...

The inside of the the DP is just a hair over 2.75", so a piece of 2.75" tubing will make a perfect square cut thru the 2nd cat, as you are using a back & forth motion, to saw thru the cat with the tubing...
The end result is a equally sized path thru the whole DP.
Using a smaller piece of 2.5' tubing will result in a smaller diameter path thru the cat that will also, not be a square cut, & will cause turbulence, & will effectively, not cause a decrease in removing the desired result, of wanting to remove the restriction of the 2nd cat.
Been there, done that...
