Tire prices

Has anyone priced the tires for their SS? I looked and my tires are $224 each. I thought my fiancee's truck tires were expensive at $165 each.

Ya i kinda checked around since i was throwing around getting strictly winter weather type tire n wheels on mine,,
ow! the best rated tires n whatever kind of wheels kinda shocked me of $$$$

I'll see how things go this winter in seeing if i want to drop that kinda coin on a winter set.

The factory SS tires are great all season tires. Maybe except for snow, I wouldn't know nor does it concern me. I will tell you that even with ESC totally off I tried to do a handbrake turn (drift) in the rain and tires really fought hard. They cost more for a reason, they are a great ALL SEASON tire. Just ask my pro-touring buddies how well this thing can handle!

What are the factory tires for the SS. My LT@ had Firestone Firehawks ( good on dry pavement, horrible in snow) I always shop online for tires, Tire Rack always has SOME kind of discount tire. When I needed 18" for my old Impala, they had BF Goodrich for $75 each. All the other tires were $225. I then went to my local tire shop and haggled til i got the right price locally.

I've got an extra set of the stock HHR SS tires for anyone who will pay a reasonable price for them (plus shipping from HI). I put 120 miles on them when I took delivery before I was able to get my Eagle F1s mounted. Other than that, they have not been used. Of course, they are the Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 (with GM's TPC #) in 225/45ZR18. PM me if you want 'em.

Check out Tire Rack...also I noticed that 235/45/18 were a bit cheaper.
