Let us know how it goes for you - this is the first I've heard of a incompatible connector.

I just wanted to confirm that as of August 24, 2014 that the GM Parts numbers list on the first page of this post are correct. Although I am a long time member I have not been on i a very long time. Reason being the HHR is still running great, has 120,000 miles on it and I have been distracted with 2 new granddaughters.
I just wanted to thank Whopper and the whole site because I knew I could find an answer here to the code and rough shifting my wife was experiencing on the HHR. Perfect diagnosis and very easy do it yourself fix. Although I only had the code for the exhaust, I just went ahead and replaced both.

Correct - the part numbers are still the same.
Here is a list from the Oldest to Newest Part numbers for the Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoids:
------------------------------
Intake 12628347 = 12646783 = 12655420
Exhaust 12628348 = 12646784 = 12655421
and to recap:
------------
P0010/11 refers to the INTAKE solenoid
P0013/14 refers to the EXHAUST solenoid
NOTE: they are SOLENOIDS, not sensors!!!! they are two different things!!

just did my 2 litre turbo and the part numbers were correct and idiot light went out on its own very happy did both intake and exhaust at the same .

Hey guys awesome post. I have a quick question. My SS just has the p0011 code which I believe I read is for the intake solenoid. Is it recommended to replace both solenoids even if I just have the 1 code???

And to add to Donbrews comments:
Rather than a recommendation, or necessity, it is more of a personal choice. Me, I'd replace them both as they aren't that expensive and I'd rather do it once than have to go back in a second time. The exhaust one may outlive the car, and never cause a problem, butttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt.................. ....... psssst - replace it anyways.
