Power Steering Motor Replacement w/Pics

Have you checked the fuses? There is one in the under hood fuse box and there is one in the BCM next to the front passenger feet.

I fixed it it was some stupid. I just got back from the body shop and they must have tried jumping it or disconnected the battery because it was the number 1 fuse under the hood. I feel like a moron because I've changed that before when I had to jump my daughter's car. I just got a lot on my mind right now and only checked the fuse on the passenger side kick panel.

had the same problem with the power steering going out at random times, got a little worried by some posts i saw on other sites about 1600.00 dollars to replace the entire steering column.
took the advice and followed the directions of the original post and the only thing i can say is WOW.
super easy, part cost me 117 and some change, took about 20 minutes to install.
Took the car for a trip to test it out and I've got to ask anyone else who's done this, Did you notice that the car actually turns SMOOTHER with the new part than it did when you drove it off the lot the first time?
My car is turning better now that I can ever remember. I would recommend swapping out that motor even if you aren't experiencing the original problem just because of how smooth its turning now.
Thank you to the original poster and all the others who also offered bits of advice.
I got so excited about the repair and how well it worked and the great advice here that as i type this up my knee plate and the supporting board are still sitting in the passenger seat waiting to be reinstalled.
thanks again. great write up.

Looks like the boys and girls in Canada get a special coverage on this issue. Eh?
