Does TPMS affect Remote Start?
Hey guys, I'm new to the forum. I've done some searching but I can't seem to find an exact answer.
I just recently got a company car, which happens to be an 09 HHR LS fleet model with remote start. It's got RKE and I got the remotes programmed Friday, but after testing the remote start it sounds like it attempts to start the car, but it doesn't actually turn over.
Could the TPMS tell tale be causing it not to actually turn over? Or, could it be something else? Is there a thread with information regarding troubleshooting the remote start? I found out yesterday that my two rear TPMS sensors are bad and need to be replaced, so in the mean time that's what I'll be troubleshooting.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Welcome!
I moved your post to introductions.
I'm not sure if TPM errors will mess with remote start. If the CEL is on it will not work.
A near dead battery could cause the problem. For some reason RS requires more juice that the key does.
The hood ajar switch must be fully latched, it is a double switch; 2 sides need to go to ground. One sends a "latched" signal and the other sends a "not-unlatched" signal. Crazy!
Is RS enabled in the DIC?
Check your recall status: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/gm-r...-status-50716/
The RCDLR does do double duty as RKE and RS receiver.

When my battery was pooping out the car started fine with key but sometimes wouldn't with remote start and sometimes turned over but wouldn't stay running when remote started. Even the 2011 models have at least a five year old battery by now so might be time to replace!!!

Most fleet HHR's came without the remote start option. Check the glove box sticker for the RPO codes. AP3 is the option code that includes remote start.
Here's a link to the RPO codes: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/gene...options-12674/
