No one tell him about the procedure on changing headlights...If he thought tail lights were hard...Tail lights are a walk in the park compared to the headlights...but I fix things for a living, so I don't find the headlights difficult....Difficult in my book would be the thermostat (because of its location on the SS)

I never had problems with the tail lights either. Upon first replacement I put on a thin film of silicone grease. I use that alot along with AntiSeize grease wherever I've been or see that it would be a good place to use it. 2006 here.

No kidding... I didn't mind the headlights honestly. But I have heard SOOOOOOO many complaints about them...

I agree, never had a problem with the tail or headlights. Yeh, the headlights can be kind of a PITA, especially when compared to other cars(like the wife's GTI. Pop the hood, remove, replace, close hood). But they really aren't THAT hard to replace, just a tad time consuming.

Changing brake light dangerous

I was trying to change turn signal light and wouldn't twist off. Had to remove assembly removing 3 bolts. My arm got stuck and thought I would have to call fire dept. 10 min later able to get arm out with grease. Better to take to shop i guess.

My left rear tail lamp on my '11 wagon was a bit stuck but hasnt been since that bulb change. Now on my '09 panel the right rear tail lamp bulb for the life of me
i couldnt get it to go back in and click in place fully. When installed proper the filament is straight up and down mine is off a little.

on my 2006, replaced both bulbs....not any problem doing it. did find that replacing with "glass based" WAGNERS(from NAPA) fit much better/easier than the "plastic based" ones from ADVANCE/AUTO ZONE. the OEM bulbs are "glass based" like the wagners...........

Hmm... Mine isn't really any more difficult to service than more "normal" cars I've owned.

If the housing is still usable, you have to pick the remains of the bulb out with whatever tool works for you. It most likely will come out in pieces.

If your problem is that the housing is melted such that the new bulb won't go in............ you need to get a new housing.
