Thanks for the video, Greg; it was a big help. I replaced the driver's side, turned the wheel all the way in. Besides the two plugs, I took out the upper 7mm bolt which let the wheel well come back a little more. I ordered the H13/9008 bulb online (Advance Autoparts) and picked it up at the store down the road. This gets you an extra 20% off, so the bulb was $12.83 with NJ tax.

I also used this thread and Geg's video to replace my headlights last night. Start to finish took about an hour but this was in the dark with a flashlight, needle nose pliers and a 7mm socket.

Love the HHR community, made it as painless as could be and saved me $70 or so by not having the dealer install the lights. :)

Just pull one of your existing pins out and match it up with what Napa has in stock. The pins are pretty strong, and shouldn't break unless they have been removed/installed many times.

Rolly , welcome to the site!
The first time I replaced my headlight bulbs, I pulled the pull pins then changed the bulbs, put the screws back in.
I took a sample push pin to my local parts palace, like NAPA and got four new ones then pushed them into place .

NAPA has a book full of samples so you match them up.

I replaced mine with LED headlights since I was tired of replacing them every 10-12 months.

I just replaced both of mine two weeks ago. Can you believe they both went out at the same time. Went to unlock the car with my fob and no lights flashed. After checking, I had a high beam on the passenger side. They were working the day before. Being it happened like that, I thought it was a fuse, but they were fine. Put in two new bulbs and wah lah. I almost fainted when I paid $50 a pair at Advance. I also bought the tool to remove the fasteners.

Is there more than just a different type bulb when you replace with LED's? Anthing extra to do?

After I discovered this and pulled it off the new one went right in.

Not that difficult.
Glad I checked this site for this. I was struggling to get the new bulb in, saw this and sure enough the old gasket was still there. Once I got that out of the the way the new bulb went right in. Was able to do the other side in about 5 minutes, gasket was stuck there too.
