Arrow Key Fobs and Remote Starts...

I was thinking about a factory key fob and remote start. My hhr did not come equipped with either and i would like to add em. I was curious to know If it was possible to do it with factory components and what hardware i would need to add. I figure that the BCM might need to be reprogrammed, so i figure get these in addition to my fogs and have the dealership do the bcm for everything at the same time.

Thanks for the info.

Are you saying you don't have key fobs ? you can program fobs but you can't add remote start. I was thinking that all HHRs came with keyless entry, You just did not get them when you got your HHR. {X rental I am thinking} Did you look in the spare tire well. When I got mine no fobs got some on ebay had them programed then found two under spare tire. Also cargo net, front tag mount & bolts, owner manual, rental ck list for all the things I found

So no dice on the Remote start huh? Thats a bummer. I thought there were hhrs with remote starts?

Well yeah my car didn't come with the fobs. Xrental yes. So all i would have to do is get the fobs right? Then have them programmed?
I member when i first got my hhr they ran the vin and said it wasn't capable????

Auto HHRs come with remote start except for a lot of fleet vehicles (rentals etc).

i seen some

the parts for locks on ebay yesterday. maybe what you need. maybe what i need sometimes mine work , sometimes they don't. if there is a problem with the locks that also means i cannot remote start because it has to be locked 1st. i think it just the the little "watch" battery inside my key fob thingy. it is strange how it works selectively. is there a easy way to get to the battery without cutting off a finger ?-i keep a very sharp knife-

Thumbs up Keyless entry fob fix

My fob ceased to work after only 3 months after getting replacement ones from chevy dealer. The lock and unlock would not work. I opened the fob and cleaned, replaced the battery and it still would not work. I got a penny and touched the contacts to the lock and unlock circuits , and it locked and unlocked my car so I knew the circuits were not bad. I then got a regular, but very small piece of aluminum foil and placed under the rubber contacts. I put the keyless fob back together and it works like brand new. Free fix! Hope this helps.

Thanks medicmissy1023, and holy dormant thread revival!

Just like fine wines, old threads never die, they just get dusty over eight years.
