Dome light bulbs

Going to change dome bulbs to LED'S. ! Any trick to taking the cover off with out breaking the tabs ?
Does it matter what side of the cover you start on to remove it ?
On my truck you start on the right side as it is hinged!
And with those plastic tabs I know they are east to break !
And yes I know the cover will be a pain to reinstall from what I have read. Just have not found the answer to removing cover !
Thanks

I’ve refrained from doing this in my 2011 2LT , I don’t want to break the tabs and there are 3 lights on the ceiling, so I’m not sure how they come off.

Just stick something in the gap a push. No magic, just 2 tabs, no hinge. The switch may fall apart.

It’s the square ones that won’t turn off.
