I think if the HHR doors did not curve under as much like most doors most would never see it like on the other cars.

Look around as this is more than a HHR and GM issue. Most vehicles have it and often it takes a good while to amount to much.

In the past many cars used to have rust through in 5 years. Today we are driving longer and it is still an issue but now not till we get to 10 years or even more on some models.
