Smile What is your battery life

My 2007 still has the factory battery running strong. Each winter it is stored on a battery tender. The car has 28,000 miles.

My 07 battery OEM battery died from two dead cells back in 2011, but the replacement has been no problem since that time.

That's 8 years on the factory battery. Storage away from engine heat is probably a big factor!!

I'd have it load tested at an auto parts store, like AZ or Advance AP

The original battery in our 2006 lasted for over 6 years. It was in it when we sold it. I'm sure that the location plays a part in this. He's not speaking of any kind of issue so why would he need to have it load tested? These modern vehicles have a way of letting you know when there's a problem with the battery.....

I have a 2008 2LT with 30K miles, the original battery was replaced in 2010 and no problems since (I bought the car in 2013 but have all repair and service receipts from the original owner. When I bought the car it only had 10K miles)

5 years on the OEM Delco batteries, and based on prior experience with Delco batteries in the NC climate, they were changed out at five years before they had a chance to fail.

The battery in my '06 LS was replaced with an AutoCraft Gold battery from Advance.

The battery in my '07 LS was replaced with a Delco unit, just as an experiment to see if there are any appreciable long term differences between OEM and aftermarket in dependability.

I have had my 07 LS since 2011 with the same Delco battery. I have never checked it's date so I do not know if it had been replaced prior to my acquiring the vehicle. I do task the electrical system heavily with my audio system every time I drive it.

Our 03 Ion that we bought back in 09 has the same Delco battery in it as when we bought it. That makes it at least 6 years old at this point. I would have to think that it had been replaced at some point before we bought it though but it's battery location is also in the trunk.

Here in AZ batteries usually barely last 5 years if you are lucky. Having the battery in the trunk away from the elements seems to pay off in longevity.

I'd get it loaded tested just for piece of mind, I get mine checked every fall, just preventative maintenance.
