HHR - Buick Bijou Super Progress

843de,
Thanks for the link!!
bowtieboy68,
Thanks! Fierce is kind of what I was shooting for
bigjacksauto,
Thank you! And you're right, it has been a lot of fun!!!
Boydie,
I know exactly the Sportwagon you are referring to. Oldsmobile had the Vista Cruiser with the same roof.
And if I'm not mistaken, the image of the yellow Buick that bigjacksauto posted is a 1950. I always loved the Big Menacing Grille on those. Kind of reminds me of a cow catcher on an old locomotive.

THE BATMAN,
Thank you for the Huge compliment!!! No worries on me painting this one black...well some of the pillars are going black. It's going to stay orange with a antique white roof and side scallops. Probably white walls and baby moons as well :)

It's going to need the rear facia and sides radicalized to some extent besides just the emblem. Possibly SS side skirts with exhaist outlets molded into the rear of the skirts for instance. Of course you need to find a finish line somewhere. It could go on and on.

You used the "P" word!
You really meant Ventiports right?
Supers had three per side, Roadmasters had four, and are you thinking about interpreting the "woody" bodies used on the Super Estates?
P.S. I was kidding about the "P" word, despite Buick frowning on calling them portholes, Motor Trend described them as such way back in 1948....and it stuck.

843de,
No offense taken by your informing me of the correct terminology. I always enjoy learning something new and I never realized that Buick wanted them refered to as Ventiports. Also, I don't intend to do a woody treatment for this project but have lots of changes yet to come

I agree with everyone, this is the most unique change I have seen to an HHR.
Always wished mine was more "Caddie like" plush, quieter, smoother.
Personally have no need for speed, not in a hurry to get anyplace, So the SS didn't do it for me.
But a Buick, that's right along the same idea. Excellent.
Somebody here is doing the V8, full thread w/ photos and everything.
Major work, can't figure out where it went though, threads always getting moved around here.

Holes
An old Buick ad in the late '40s or early '50s said "in the future all cars will have holes in the side" I think exact quote. Never heard them called Ventiports but what do I know.
Boydie Back in the Saddle again......
