HID retrofit

Sure. If you're a good craftsman with the right tools to work with.
I'm always tinkering around and making things. Just replaced a worn sleeve bushing on my riding lawnmower's front axle. Couldn't find the correct size plastic bushing, so I made one from some scrap thin wall PVC pipe. Just a little cutting, sanding and fitting.
Pretty much the same kind of work you'll be looking at to crack open those headlights and seal them back up.

Ok guys, I haven't worked on getting the headlights open yet.
But I switched to designing the wiring harness to work with bi-xenon HIDs and LED DRL.
Here's a question:
I want the high beams to trigger the projector shields and want the low beams to continually give power to the ballasts.
I know I can try to achieve this with diodes, but I heard of an all on mod that works with other cars by grounding the negative end of the low beams.
Apparently when the other cars turn on there headlights they get positive power and the negative is grounded, but when they trigger on the highs the positive power is still active but the low beams become ungrounded and the highs receive power.
Is that true in our case?

Well here is an update guys...
I got the lenses open using a dremel type tool. The lenses are free and I added a grove into the part where the lenses go so the new sealant has something to hold onto.
FYI
DRLs are easily tapped into by way of fuse. (Haven't done it yet)
DRLs are high beams with less output voltage.
Unlocking the car turns on highbeams not DRLs, but I turned them off via the dash.
As far as the restoration process it's basically done.
There was some heavy oxidation damage and external cracking and deep rock damage on the lenses, but I was able to get all of that out, they look brand new, and are clear coated with UV protection.
TRS after weeks of talking to them just made a cheaper HID kit available, so I'm waiting for my order.
But I hope to have everything up and running in the coming week.
I also opted for the switchback LED shrouds, so it will have Porsche looking DRLs that also function as a blinker.
I'll keep you guys updated.

Hi, guys! I'm from faraway country named Belarus. At first I wanna excuse for my English, 'cause my native language is Russian... Ok, let's start.
I always wanted quality headlight and finally i got it!
First of all our headlights are very big inside, so don't use H1 projectors or the projectors less than 3.0". USE ONLY 3.0" PROJECTOR AND D2S BULB!!! Let me show you something. Of course you won't understand the text , but there are couple of pictures.
1 photo: darkness
2 photo: couple of Morimoto D2S 2.5" v2.0
3 photo: ONE Koito Q5 3" D2S !!!
If you get small projector you'll have larger distance between lower reflector and lens. So light will be fall into reflector and you'll gonna light up the clouds I hope you will understand after my picture:
Of course you can paint the reflector, but i didn't want to do that. What color? Black? Chrome grille, chrome mirrors and black headlights? It's stupid... The same color, as my Chevy? Noooo ( example )
So i decied not to paint and now it looks like stock.
I bought my projectors at Aliexpress, because they have learned to make a quality product. And also because I'm happy with the price
It has european cut-off line.
I did not disassemble the headlight, so I found a guy who would do it for me. It took me about 70$. By the way, money:
Projector lenses - 60$ (with shipping to Belarus)
Mikrouna D2S bulbs - ~40$
Hid xenon ballast 35W - ~25$
Shouds - ~15$
HID wire harenss, sealant, job, etc. - ~ 95$.
TOTAL: 235$
I am very satisfied with the result!!! Ok, now photos:

I'm on the site since 2013 i'm just very shy (sorry, sarcasm)
Thanks a lot! I am flattered...
Next step I wanna do is a headlamp washer. Winter is a very dirty season At least, in our country.
For example:
And somewhere at country road i have to stop every 100 km just to clean my headlights. It's pissing me off!
