i tried chrome paint on other parts and it just looks silver!

Chrome paint looks more like the "brushed" LS grille color... Not bad, but not chrome.

It would be slightly labor intensive but, you could use a quality vinyl chrome. Long time ago a member did his front bumper and it turned out pretty nice ......from the pictures......but the chrome bumper was not my cup of tea.

Order a chrome one and then hack that one up to your liking!!!

I just got the gloss black and mesh version of that same grille (ABS) off eBay and it looks amazing! Planning on installing this weekend and will post pics.
