Dashboard Storage Compartment Lock

Does anyone make a lock for the dashboard storage lock? If not has anyone fabricated one? I keep my gps in there so I would like to be able to lock it if possible. I was thinking I might be able to use a lock from a file or storage compartment. However, they are usually chrome and my interior is black.

I have never seen a lock made for the dash bin but fabrication of our looks like it wouldn't be bad. Check on ebay I'm sure you could find a black lock cyl.

If a scumbag thief goes as far as breaking into your car, then a lock on the storage bin won't even slow them down.
In fact, they will probably do more damage when prying open the storage compartment door. Broken compartment and most likely a damaged dash.

The old saying, "locks are for the honest people" appears appropriate here.

That's just the rubber bumpers sticking. There's supposed to be stick on felt kind of things on the lid that contact the rubber bumpers on the dash side, the felt part get pushed off to the side leaving the sticky part to contact the bumper.
