First time Scratch Repair

Had some nasty scratches on my HHR Passengers rear door and fender. I did this all by hand (PITA) Eventually, I will go over with a real buffer... I am by no means a detail guy.. But I am learning, I am usually a Performance/Audio guy. Leave the paint to the pros.. lol

After Pics, (Scratches are 90% gone, you can see them if you are right up close to the paint.

Looks good from here. Watch you don't go through the clear coat on these babies...

I hear ya,

I used a bit of rubbing compound and then polishing compound by hand, I am kinda afraid to step up to electric buffer still. I don't want to shell out the $$$ Till I feel comfortable.

Looks like you did a really good job. Especially by hand.:thumb:

Stepping up to a power buffer....get a GOOD DOUBLE ACTION. Pretty hard to make any mistakes, burn the paint, cut through the clear coat. Several members have single action variable speed. But THEY have much practice and know what they are doing!!!

Porter Cable makes a good one. Also Mequiars, which I understand is sold in SOME WalMarts.
