right front wheel area thumping under hard braking
Okay here is the deal.
When I was driving on the highway yesterday, my hhr ls started making a thumping noise when I press the brake pedal moderately hard. It sounds like a thumping coming from the front right wheel well, but it's only intermittent. any thoughts are appreciated Thanks |
hmmmmm
no one huh :( |
Does it make the sound when the brakes are hot or cold?? If it only happens after the brakes have heated up – then you might have a rotor that is starting to warp. Another option would be that you have a brake pad or a caliper not working properly.

usually only after a hard braking incident
and the it disappears after about 15 minutes |
Do you get a slight pull to the right in the steering wheel along with the thumping? If so I would most likely go with a caliper not releasing or not working properly. One note - I had mine in for a hub bearing assembly replacement. When they went to take the calipers off - the threads in the caliper came out with the bolt!! They say corrosion - I say not install properly in the first place. Good luck

there is no pull to the side at all when braking
