How do you think the HHR handles in the snow?

I just got to drive my HHR in the snow for the first time. It had snowed once before but there was no accumulation. Anyways, the HHR seemed to handle fairly well in the snow. I hit one patch of black ice but traction control took care of it. I personaly need a little getting used to the FWD again. The Firehawk GTAs suck so I think I need a better set of tires. There was only about 1/4" to 1/2" of snow but it had been raining all day so it was pretty slippery out. Has anyone drove their HHR in deeper snow yet? How does it handle? Its supposed to snow all week so their predicting 1' by the weekend here.

What is snow?

I think you guys have it in the mountains. :D Lucky bastard!

Agreed, Howdy. The 'hawks are not so great for wet surfaces. I do like the tires, but not so good for the greater Seattle area.

Luckily, I'm not in too much of a hurry to change the tires. I have a Nissan 4x4 that is perfect for foul weather.

It was in the 30's and some ice formed by me and I drove fine over it. No snow in New York, NY Yet.

I live in oklahoma and we had one freeze but nothin was on the ground so nothing happened. This is my first time with traction control and abs so once it does get slippery Im gonna take my car to an abadoned parking lot so I can get used to it.

Captain Please let us know when you drive in a few inches. Plus can you post pictures of the HHR covered in snow?

captain howdy 11-23-2005 11:42 AM

I can take a picture of a HHR covered in salt residue right now but you dont want to see it. :( We have a break in the weather today but we are going to be dumped on for the next two days. I'll snap a shot or two after. ;)

It'll be a while before we see any snow here. It has cooled down to 75° today though. It might even start to get some frost on the ground by Christmas.

Oh how I love the warm weather in Texas!

Does Texas even get snow? I have never been to your state but its on my list of places I am going to check out before I die.
