Power Steering Intermittent Failures

Back in when my HHR was new, the PS warning came on. Turned care off and back on and it ran fine for 3+ years until now. Now it fails regularly but will function normally with a restart of the engine. Sometimes it will be ok for hours, sometimes just a minute or two. What could the problem be and what might be the solution?

New power steering motor. Keep your receipt for any parts or repairs in case it is recalled. The same motor was in the Cobalt and it has been recalled in that car but not in the HHR.

GM Customer Support: 1-866-790-5700. It doesn't hurt to talk. I have honestly had great experience with them. I am truly amazed and grateful at what they were willing to do for me-and I'm sure they will help you as well. Explain the issue, also explain that it is the same part as the Cobalt recalled part. See what they say. Can't hurt.

is this problem happens if you turn to any direction fast, when the car is not moving, if so
replace the main fuse in the fuse box in the hood,
and try to clean the connector that connect the power steering motor.
trust me it will work.
