Been getting this code pretty regualrly. In the past I have been able to use the generic reader at Advance to reset the code and it would keep the code from comming back for a while.

The code reader indicates Evaporative Emmsions Vent Valve Solenoid malfunction.

I imagine that the issue could be caused by the folowing: primarily a bad solenoid, possible a bad line and possible a bad gas cap.

I was planning on replacing the solenoid to see if that is the culprit and searched the net and could not find a definitive anser. This is where the confusion comes in.
Which solenoid shoudl be replaced, the one on the canister or the one in the engine bay?
I looked quickly and it appears the solenoid is on the bottom of the tank. Is this right I saw refrence to it being on top of the tank and either needing to drop the tank or access it through the taillight.

Whihc one of these is the correct replacement? 214-1680 or 214-2236

Depending on which solenoid you get you may need a new harness with it.
