Greetings, My HHR's interior driver door latch just broke the other day, I now have to roll down my window and reach out to open the exterior latch, ( to exit the vehicle). I found out that the only fix (supposedly) is to buy a complete door panel for about $500.00, Yikes! Does anybody have a cheaper remedy or suggestions? I am searching the wreckers and eBay and craigslist. Maybe I could patch it together with some JB weld? That is quite a toxic design for just replacing the door handle/latch.

go to car-part.com and search for interior door panel and you can get them for around 100 bucks or less. it is a list of all local junkyards in the country and is great for good cheap parts. hope this helps

Chevy knows these are easily broken but yet they inssist on selling you a complete door panel... I searched for 2 weeks and found one on line from a salvage yard in florida! Hope i never need another!

Where did Mrs delivrit get those? All the dealers i called/went to said door panel or nothing????

I will tough it out until the aftermarket door latch is released to consumers, thanks again.

On this same topic, Who or where could I voice my (our) discontent with GM, is there a toll free # or email address to an actual GM employee that will listen? This is just a junk part that their design team approved and sold us trusting buyers, it should be approved and warranted for all HHR owners.

A broken interior door handle could be considered a safety issue, as it prevents a person from getting out of the vehicle quickly in an emergency.
